What is AdEasy?

AdEasy is Southeast Asia’s first online marketplace for offline ad space. Our marketplace offers all traditional media that can be found in the real world, including print, cinema, out-of-home, television, radio, and more. Our goal is to provide a platform that makes advertising easy, accessible, and transparent for businesses big and small, helping them connect with their customers through above-the-line ad space. I am a small business owner or a freelance marketer with a modest advertising budget. Is AdEasy right for me?

Yes. Our marketplace is intended to serve small-to-medium enterprises, marketers and boutique agencies. Our mission is to offer everyone an easy, accessible and transparent platform for advertising. We make sure that fantastic non-premium above-the-line ad space find their way on the AdEasy marketplace just for you.

What is traditional media?

Traditional media refers to television, radio, cinema, print (newspapers and magazines), and out-of-home media (billboards, trains, buses, taxis, etc). It means advertising in the real world instead of the digital world.

Why advertise with traditional media?

Traditional media is still the golden standard for advertising. It delivers fame and brand equity, making your business a household name with the masses. It is also the most trusted way of changing perceptions and lowering adoption barriers. Radio reaches 97% of all Malaysians. It effectively changes key brand perceptions and with a majority of Malaysians tuning in to almost 15 hours of radio weekly, it’s the best place for brands to advertise, especially locally.


Print media audiences have increased by 7% year-on-year in 2015. A 2015 consumer report by Nielsen shows that six in ten Malaysians consume more above-the-line (ATL) media than anything else (newspapers at 68%, magazines at 64% and television at 63%). Also, at least 75% of readers view print ads than they do digital ads.


As many as 71% of consumers look at roadside billboards and 56% of them talk to their friends and family about what they saw.


Television continues to dominate over other media when it comes to driving sales. It still commands 88% of total video time among persons over 18 years old.

Which is better? Traditional vs. Digital?

Contrary to popular belief, advertising is not a zero-sum game where one medium trumps another. Marketing experts say integrating your offline and online marketing efforts is the key to success. Instead of putting all your eggs in one digital basket – almost half of all online ads are never actually seen – the best marketing strategy is to optimise all your content across real and digital channels.

Do you own the ad space listed on your website?

We only provide the marketplace technology for media owners to list their ad space inventory. We source above-the-line (ATL) ad space directly from television, radio, cinema, print and out-of-home (OOH) media owners and do not own any ad space.

BOOKING AD SPACE

How do I book ad space on AdEasy?

1. Browse: Find the right ad space for your business by browsing available ad space. Click on a media title (e.g. Golf Digest Malaysia) to view the media profile. The media profile page will show all ad space listings (e.g. full page, half page, 30-second movie ad, etc) for that selected media.


2. Book: Click 'Request a Quote' next to your desired ad space. A pop-up box will appear. In the pop-up box, select your campaign dates, enter any request you may have, and the location you’d like to run your ad. Click ‘Submit’. You will receive an email indicating that your quote request has been received.


3. Confirm: You will receive an email with your booking request (aka ‘Quotation’). AdEasy automatically includes an ad delivery fee with your booking. Review your booking details to ensure everything is correct. Our community support team may contact you should they require more information about your booking.


4. Pay: After confirming your booking details, Follow the instructions to make payment. You may make your payment immediately or within five working days from the date your booking request was received (the booking will automatically be cancelled if payment is not made within five working days). You’ll receive an email indicating your payment has been received, and that your booking request has been submitted to the media owner.


I am new to this. How do I start advertising?

In principle, advertising is simple. To start advertising, you really only need to know three things: How to set advertising goals, how the advertising process works, and how to create an ad. Can I put anything in my ad or are there restrictions?

Your materials must comply with the advertising regulations of the country in which your ad will appear. We recommend you get to know the regulations of your chosen media (radio, print, television, out-of-home) before creating your ad. Each media is typically governed by a different regulatory board. All ads should be sent to the regulatory board in question for approval before they can be aired or published. Either your media owner or advertising agency should take care of this for you. Can I book ad space outside my country?

Yes. Just make sure you comply with the advertising regulations of the country in question.

Can I book ad space for personal use? I want to advertise for a birthday, wedding proposal or a cause, etc.

Yes. You can create your own advertisement that sends someone a special message or for almost any other important announcement.

Can you help me create my ad?

Yes. You can request for a cost estimate by simply filling in a ‘Creative Brief’ form, explaining the ad format and creative direction you have in mind. More information on requesting for creatives >>

How do I deliver my ad to the media owner?

Most advertising materials must be submitted through an ad delivery network for review before they reach the media owner. Each media owner has specific requirements for material submission and ad formats. For example, some media owners will only accept digital transmission via established ad delivery networks, while others may require colour proofs to be delivered to their office on a DVD. This information can be found on each media profile page.

Sounds confusing? Don’t worry. Booking ad space on AdEasy automatically includes ad delivery service. For digital transmissions, AdEasy partners with Adstream Asia OnTime and Datamation EADS. For direct delivery, AdEasy will also manage the validation and delivery of submissions for you. The ad delivery fee is automatically calculated in your booking request (aka ‘Quotation’) and is based on the media type and materials. More information on our ad delivery service >>

When should I submit my advertising materials?

The deadline for material submission can be found under the ‘Booking Policy’ section of every media profile page. You should always book your ad space well ahead of your campaign start date.

I found a better rate from a media owner. Will you honour the lower price?

Nice find! Write to us at hello@goadeasy.com. We’ll discuss your agreement with the media owner and will do our best to honour the lowest rate.

LISTING AD SPACE

I am a media owner. Can I list and sell my traditional ad space on AdEasy?

I have some land or space on the side of a building which I think would be ideal to display advertising on. Can you advise me?

PAYMENT

How do I pay for my booking?

Payment instructions can be found in your booking request (aka ‘Quotation’). You may make your payment immediately after you receive your booking request (aka Quotation’) or within five working days of receiving your booking request via direct bank transfer to our account or by cheque (the booking will automatically be cancelled if payment is not made within five working days). You will receive an email indicating that your payment is received, and that your booking request has been submitted to the media owner.

What payment methods do I have?

We currently accept direct bank transfers and payments by cheque, and are working on adding a checkout feature with more payment solutions to our website soon.

What is ad delivery fee?

Booking ad space on AdEasy automatically includes ad delivery service.

Most advertising materials must be submitted through an ad delivery network for review before they reach the media owner. Each media owner has specific requirements for material submission and ad formats. For example, some media owners will only accept digital transmission via established ad delivery networks, while others may require colour proofs to be delivered to their office on a DVD. AdEasy partners with Adstream Asia OnTime and Datamation EADS for digital transmissions, and will also manage the email, pick-up and delivery of direct submissions for you. The total ad delivery fee is automatically calculated in your booking request (aka ‘Quotation’) and is based on the media type, number of ad materials, and delivery method. Do you transfer the payment to the media owner directly?

Your payment is first made to AdEasy. From the beginning of your booking process until your ad goes live, we will hold the payment. In case your booking is not accepted, we will immediately begin the refund process.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

How do I cancel a booking?

You can cancel a booking by talking to us directly. You may email us at sales@goadeasy.com to make a cancellation request with our community support team. All cancellations should be made within ten working days from the payment date of your booking. Cancellations are also subject to the terms and conditions in your booking confirmation from the media owner. Don’t worry, we do not charge cancellation fees.

What are my refund options if my booking was not accepted or has expired?

If your booking has been declined by the media owner or expires, your booking request will automatically be cancelled and no charges will be made. You have two options to choose from:

1. Get a full refund within 15 working days after the booking rejection date.

2. Make a new booking within five working days after the booking rejection date. We will keep your payment as credit for the new booking. This way, you will not have to make another payment. If the new booking is cheaper or more expensive, we will respectively reimburse you or you will be billed the extra amount.

What are my refund options if I cancel a booking?

Here are the conditions for getting a refund after canceling a booking:

What are my refund options if I miss my materials submission deadline?

No refunds will be issued. We recommend booking your ad space and creating your ad well ahead of your materials submission deadline. Your materials must be submitted on time to get approval before the date your ad goes live.

What are my refund options if my ad is not approved by my media owner and I am unable to develop new materials in time?

No refunds will be issued. We recommend booking your ad space and creating your ad well ahead of your materials submission deadline. Before submitting, always ensure that your materials fully comply with the media owner’s regulations.
